Welcome
On behalf of the District of Columbia Alpha chapter of the Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity, I would like to welcome you to our new website. Our chapter has a distinct history at the George Washington University and has been on campus as early as 1868. We carry on the legacy of chapter alumni including the first graduate of GWU to be University President, Howard Hodgkins, and the founder of the U.S. Air Force, Billy Mitchell. It is their accomplishments that drive our efforts.
I am very proud of my Fraternity’s accomplishments this past year. We have truly developed brotherhood and reinforced the ideals of our national Founders, Charles Page Thomas More & William Henry Letterman. With 26 new brothers during the 2009-2010 school year which brings us to just under 100 active members, we continually succeed in our hard work. We were able to have a tremendous amount of participation in other organization’s philanthropic efforts and have reinvigorated our sports program. We have also had the most participation by brothers in leadership programming, both nationally and locally, in our chapter’s history.
Our social events have only been getting better and better. I am confident in saying that we throw the best and most creative mixers and brotherhood events on campus.
It is a very exciting time to be a Phi Psi at GWU. We were awarded a townhouse last semester by the University which is a testament to our positive impact on campus. This six person house located at 2206 F. St, NW, will be home to the Executive Board, and will serve DC Alpha as a host for events, meeting space, and simply a place for brothers to hang out. If you are a brother from another chapter, or an alumni, feel free to come visit. Brotherhood is strong, the chapter is sound financially. I am fortunate to lead an exceptional chapter.
Sincerely,
Carl Sceusa
President
